Footballers not crying over postponement

February 10, 2012
The postponement of last Sunday's NFL Division 4 opener in Ruislip due to a snow-covered pitch did have an upside for Fermanagh.

Speaking to the Fermanagh Herald, team liaison officer Ger Treacy noted that the postponement should allow niggling injuries to clear up in time for this weekend's clash with Clare.

"On Sunday we had an extensive, rigorous workout in nearby Strawberry Hill College. We made the most out of the poor hand that we had been dealt with," he said.

"And the extra week will hopefully see our short-term injury problems cleared up. We also had a number of players suffering from 'flu and this should be cleared by the coming weekend.

"In light of that, we will have virtually a clean bill of health leaving aside the few long-term injured."
