Canavan still looking

Fermanagh manager Peter Canavan
Peter Canavan is still running the rule over his Fermanagh players.

The Erne County manager left Roslea's Seamus Quigley out of the starting team for Wednesday night's McKenna Cup clash with Tyrone - even though he had bagged 2-16 in his first two outings in the competition - and explains in today's Irish News that it's all part of his policy of looking at everyone at his disposal:

"At the start of the McKenna Cup I made it clear that our aim was to select a panel at the end of the McKenna Cup for the league and championship, and that it was important that every player in the panel got a run-out.

"So it was simply a case of giving everybody opportunities and that's why Seamie was left out and other fellas came in."
