Goals win games I guess. That was the clear message from last week, when our four underdogs scored 52 times between them, while their opponents only managed 50 scores, and yet we failed to find even one win out of four. Also, your writer was strongly tempted to tip up Laois this week at 4/7 at home to Armagh, but seeing as Stephen McDonnell has grabbed late goals to foil us both times we've opposed his beloved Armagh, we're going to learn our lesson and stay away! First things first, and we're going to start by making a recommendation in tonight's hurling match - Antrim plus four points at 4/5 on Ladbrokes handicap betting. Make no mistake about it, Dublin are the real deal this year. Their consistent record at underage level over the past few years was bound to eventually seep through to the senior panel, and manager Tommy Naughton has got his players firing on all cylinders. All that said, this is their second away game in four days with yet another beckoning on Sunday, and a midweek trip up to Casement Park is a tough ordeal for amateur players. Antrim will be more familiar with their home environment, they need a big result here to give them any hope of avoiding the drop, and the gut feeling is that they'll give the Dubs plenty of it. 4/5 would represent a decent single bet by itself, but if you feel the need to bolster the odds by adding another few selections to make up a multiple bet, Monaghan at home to Offaly look very strong at 8/13, while if Mayo are good enough to go down to Cork and retrieve a six point deficit down there, they are certainly good enough to oblige at 8/11 at home to the Dub footballers. If this game was priced at the start of the year Monaghan and Offaly probably would have been marked down as a much tighter encounter, but the disparity in form between the two counties has been very stark this year. Last year these counties drew in Tullamore on their way to relegation, but in Clones with Offaly truly struggling to rediscover any kind of form, it's hard to see them stopping the juggernaut that is Seamus McEnaney's team at the moment. Likewise, Mayo have won every game since other than their week two trip to Donegal, and while opposing the Dubs after their massive win last week has some risk attached, in Castlebar with the playoffs beckoning for the winner it's hard to look past the home team. Finally, seeing as Ladbrokes have gone to the hard work of pricing all four All Ireland Colleges semi finals this week, it would be remiss not to make some recommendations. The clash between St. Pat's of Navan and Tralee CBS in Templemore looks like the pick of the bunch, with Tralee's flair and style up against the never-say-die attitude of the Meathmen. We're going to opt for Colm O'Rourke's charges to take this tie at odds of 10/11, with Brian Sheridan's free taking and the drive of Patrick O'Rourke and Kieran Lynch likely to prove decisive.
