Cluxton out, Donaghy in for Boylan

September 20, 2006
Ireland boss Sean Boylan will have to plan without Dublin 'keeper Stephen Cluxton for the International Rules Series but revealed he will be contacting Kerry star Kieran Donaghy surrounding the player's involvement. Boylan will be contacting most of the Kerry and Mayo players in the next week or two and revealed he won't be rushing Donaghy into any action just yet. "We will have to see how Kieran is first; he's reported to have a back injury last week so obviously we don't want to rush him into anything. "We'll give it a few days before contacting any of the Kerry and Mayo players," remarked Boylan. Dublin goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton will not participate in this year's matches as he is unavailable due to work commitments. The Dubliner was Ireland's player of the series in 2004. Meath goalkeeper Brendan Murphy has reportedly been showing up well in recent trials. The towering Trim clubman who spent his younger days with Wimbledon soccer club had an impressive debut year between the posts for the Royal County and is front runner to take over from Cluxton.
