Ballyboden boss Andy McEntee reserved plenty of praise for his players after last night's extra time victory over Clonmel Commercials in Portlaoise.

Down to 14 men, the Dublin champions trailed by three down the home stretch before reducing their arrears to one and grabbing a late equaliser via Darragh Nelson which sent the game into extra time.

From there, 'Boden went on to own the added periods, keeping their Tipperary opponents scoreless throughout,  to set-up an All-Ireland final showdown with Castlebar Mitchel's on March 17.

"You'd have to say that with four or five minutes to go, a man down, three points down, having missed as many chances as we did, you'd say it probably isn't going to be our day," McEntee said afterwards.

"But we talked a lot all year about the character and about never giving up and they didn't give up, that was plain to see. They seemed to get a new lease of energy and just kept running at them.

"Darragh's score to equalise it was a fantastic score, in the circumstances and the pressure that was on him and thankfully we came good then in extra time."
