Ger Cunningham wasn't getting carried away after Dublin registered their first victory over Kilkenny in Nowlan Park since 1964.

The Dubs produced another sparkling display to make it two wins from two in Division 1A of the Allianz League, but their manager was keen to put things into perspective.

"Any time you come down to Nowlan Park and get a victory is very pleasing. I am very happy with a lot of the performances," the former Cork goalkeeper said.

"The last 10 minutes was a bit panicky, they finished with a couple of goals and it was a bit tighter at the end than it should have been. But overall, I am very happy. Beating Tipp was great, but Kilkenny were short 12 or 13 of their panel and some really fantastic players.

"I know it gives the chance to the other players to stand up - but Kilkenny weren't at full strength."

Cunningham insists that Dublin aren't looking any further than their next outing against his native county on March 7 at Croke Park.

"It's very early stages. You saw Tipp came back and bounced back and had a great victory in Thurles and Cork bounced back and had a win so it's one game at a time," he continued.

"We had an opportunity to come down to Kilkenny when they were not the strongest and we took advantage of it. But we still have plenty to work on."
