New Dublin hurling manager Ger Cunningham has announced a high-calibre backroom team which includes former Tipperary star Tommy Dunne.

The 2001 All-Ireland winning captain will serve as coach, with Shay Boland and Gearoid O Riain as selectors. A qualified strength and conditioning coach, Dunne was involved with the Tipperary minor and U21 winning teams of 2007 and 2010, and had worked under previous Dublin manager Anthony Daly for the past two seasons in an unofficial capacity.

Boland is familiar with many of the current Dublin players, having managed the county U21s this year and the minors to back-to-back All-Ireland final appearances in 2011 and 2012.

O Riain, meanwhile, was in charge of the Kilmacud Crokes team that won the Dublin SHC title in 2012.

Cunningham's backroom team also includes trainer Ken Robinson and performance manager Caroline Currid.
