Mammoth task ahead - Baker

Ollie Baker admits Kilmacud Crokes face "a mammoth task" as they bid to become the second Dublin club to win the Leinster senior hurling club championship.

Crumlin brought the O'Neill Cup to the capital for the only time to date in 1980 and current kingpins Crokes moved within an hour of the provincial decider with last weekend's thrilling extra-time success over Rathdowney-Errill of Laois at Parnell Park.

Next up they will face either Clara or Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny and Baker knows that's a massive proposition:

"We know there's a mammoth task ahead of us in three weeks. We'll just have to be ready for it. At the same time, there's a real excitement about the fact that we are in a Leinster semi-final," the former Clare boss said in The Irish Independent.

"These are brilliant days for Kilmacud and brilliant days for the players. We'll live them as they are, and take every day as it comes.

"Rathdowney was our fourth match in the last five or six weeks, and that's a heavy toll on lads. We have a three-week break now so we can repair a few injuries and get a bit of freshness back again."
