Dublin Ladies Opens New Office
August 18, 2010
The big news this week is the opening of the Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Office.
Membership in the County is at a record high of 6500, and with just under 300 teams in 58 Clubs the time is now right to put in place a full time structure to administer the day to day running of our affairs.
Paying tribute to the work of the Volunteers who have brought the Association to this phase in just 25 years, County Chairman Camillus Kilpatrick said that the ground work had been laid and it was now time to build on the success of Ladies Gaelic Football and to push for a membership of 10,000. "There is no doubt that we can achieve this in a few more years" he noted, "When the current Executive Committee took over at the end of 2007 we had 4500 members. That has increased by nearly 45% today".
Initially, the County Administrator will provide a "hands on" day to day service for the members and be a point of contact for all matters to do with Ladies Gaelic Football in the County. Behind the scenes, statistics and databases will be developed to drive and direct the Association in Dublin into the future.
Located in the Le Chéile Community Centre on Clancarthy Road, just across the street from Parnell Park, home of Dublin GAA, the Dublin Ladies have access to a suite of meeting rooms and a Sports Hall. Commenting on this Camillus Kilpatrick said that the availability of up-to-date technology would facilitate training, courses and workshops which will support the players out on the pitches across the county.
The Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Office opens on Wednesday 18th August at 9am.
The Office will open daily from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm
The County Administrator is Patricia Monahan
