'Supple has attitude of professional' - Gilroy

Dublin's Shane Supple
Dublin football supremo Pat Gilroy says Shane Supple's spell as a professional soccer player had imbued him with the right mental approach to sport.

Former Ipswich Town goalkeeper Supple has been named on the Dubs' bench for this weekend's NFL clash with Mayo.

"He (Supple) has been around the development squad but he had a bit of an injury in January so he probably would have played some time in the O'Byrne Cup only for the fact that he wasn't available," said Gilroy.

"He only came in to us fully this week because we had the problem with Michael.

"We don't think there is any point in carrying these keepers. He would be the third I suppose.

"We have seen him a little bit before this with development squads. He has a good attitude, a good kick-out and he has had the benefits of professional training."
