Andrews takes charge of Dublin minors

November 10, 2009

Cavan joint-manager Val Andrews
Val Andrews has been appointed as the new Dublin minor football manager. The former Louth, Cavan and Leinster senior boss takes over from Cyril Kevlihan, who guided the Dubs to a Leinster title this year before losing to Down in the All-Ireland quarter-final. Ballymun Kickhams clubman Andrews has served as manager of the Dublin development squad for the past four years, so is already familiar with the players that will be at his disposal next year. A lecturer at the Institute of Technology in Blanchardstown, Andrews made his name as coach of the star- studded Tralee IT Sigerson Cup winning team of the mid-1990s. He served as Cavan manager from 1998 to 2001 and Louth supremo in 2004 and 2005. He also won back-to-back Inter-provincial titles with Leinster in 2005 and 2006.
