Westmeath make two changes

By Randal Scally. Michael Ennis and John Connellan come into the Westmeath team for Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final against Dublin at Croke Park. But Dessie Dolan has failed to recover fully from a knee injury and has to be content with a place on the subs bench once again. Also starting from the bench will be fellow veterans Damien Healy and David O'Shaughnessy who, like Dolan, saw action as substitutes in the extra-time win over Wicklow, with O'Shaughnessy, in particular, making a big impression at midfield. All-Star nominee Ennis and Connellan were also introduced against the Garden County and are retained at the expense of Willie Murtagh and Keith Scally. Ennis was unable to start against Mick O'Dwyer's side due to an Achilles tendon problem, but has returned to full fitness since. Athlone clubman Connellan, meanwhile, will be making his first championship start in two years, having played in the 2006 All-Ireland quarter-final against Dublin when he was still a minor. Ennis slots in for Murtagh at wing back, while Connellan's inclusion at corner forward sees Fergal Wilson switch to the number 10 position which Scally occupied the last day. Derek Heavin, David Duffy and John Smyth all picked up knocks against Wicklow, but have recovered to take their places at centre half back, midfield and centre half forward respectively. Westmeath (SF v Dublin); G Connaughton; F Boyle, K Gavin, J Keane (captain); M Ennis, D Heavin, D O'Donoghue; M Flanagan, D Duffy; F Wilson, J Smyth, D Harte; J Connellan, D Glennon, C Lynam.
