Jayo to start against Westmeath

Dublin's Jason Sherlock
Jason Sherlock is expected to make a dramatic return to the Dublin attack for next Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final against Westmeath.
The 33-year-old 1995 All-Ireland winner is poised to fill the void left by the injured Mark Davoren at full forward. Davoren has been ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing his cruciate ligament in the quarter-final win over Meath.
Sherlock's absence from the Dublin squad for a number of their NFL games had fuelled speculation that he would not be in manager Pat Gilroy's summer plans, but after coming on as a second half substitute for his St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan club-mate Bernard Brogan against the Royals, he is now in line to start against the Lake County.
Following Dublin's unconvincing performance that last day, Gilroy could make as many as three changes to the team with newcomer Rory O'Carroll thought to be pushing hard for Alan Hubbard's place in the full back line, and Diarmuid Connolly challenging for one of the half forward berths. A fit-against Mossie Quinn could also come into the reckoning, though it looks as though Ciaran Whelan will once again start on the bench after Ross McConnell and Darren Magee dominated the midfield exchanges against Meath.
Dessie Dolan and Michael Ennis are expected to return to the Westmeath team after injury prevented them from starting the extra-time win over Wicklow, while David Duffy, Derek Heavin and John Smyth are also expected to be passed fit after picking up injuries against Mick O'Dwyer's side.
Westmeath manager Tomas O Flatharta must also decide whether or not to start experienced midfielder David O'Shaughnessy after his superb cameo role against Wicklow.
