Impressive Ulster MHC semi-final win for Down

Down minor hurlers booked their place in the Ulster MHC decider when on Sunday last, 20th of May at Casement Park, Belfast they convincingly defeated Derry on a scoreline of 2-13 to 0-8. The Down side dominated this game from start to finish and an early goal from Malachy Magee after one minute sent them on their way. They led at the interval by 1-9 to 0-4. Derry improved in the second-half and made more of a contest of it. However, despite their best efforts the Mourne side always held the upperhand and deservedly won go through to the Ulster decider where they will meet Antrim. Derry - D. McDermott; C. Mackle, L.
