Down's Aidan Carr admits that he is delighted to be playing regular football.

Carr was used as an impact substitute last year, but he seems to have nailed down a place in the starting XV this year, having started all bar one of their league games.

"I'm delighted to be playing more football," Carr told Gaelic Life. "I said in an interview at the start of the year that there would be chances, and that hopefully I would put my hand up and take one of them.

"Luckily enough I got all but one game in the league. Everyone knew there would be changes after the loss to Cork, and unfortunately I was one of them, but luckily for me I managed to play my way back into the plans."
