Down hurlers won't be taking Meath for granted this Saturday at Pairc Esler.
Down's Conor Woods admits that they will not be taking Meath for granted in the Christy Ring Cup.

The sides meet at Pairc Esler, Newry on Saturday afternoon after bother were victorious in their opening round matches as Down defeated Mayo and Meath beat London.

Down had a disastrous league campaign that will see them ply their trade in division 2B next year alongside Meath, but they bounced back last week and recorded a merited win over Mayo.

Woods admits that the result has restored confidence in the side, but he stressed to Gaelic Life that they still had a lot of work to do, particularly against Meath.

"Meath are a big, strong, physical team," said Woods. "They have a few key players. It is going to take a step up. They are a similar side to Mayo.
