Senior Football
Clonduff 0-10 Castlewellan 1-13
After two wins in their first two outings the senior footballers lost to Castlewellan at Clonduff Park on Friday evening. The visitors gave early warning of their intentions when centre half back Daniel Morgan came forward to kick the opening point of the game inside the first minute. The home supporters soon realised that this was a hungry and capable Castlewellan side when they added to their opening score with three further unanswered points in as many minutes from Colm óg Crilly, Aidan Burns and Sean Russell.
From this stage Clonduff were always chasing the game but on a night when Clonduff were wasteful in attack kicking too many wides the visitors missed very little. Nevertheless Castlewellan were much hungrier and deserved to win.
