Scor Sinsir in Mayobridge on Sunday night was a highly entertaining evening with our club taking part in three events. Thanks to Tony Bannon (solo singing & folk group) Donna Feeney, Anthony and Philomena Bannon (folk group), John Brennan, Liam and Veronica McGreevy (quiz team). Unfortunately we did not qualify in any category for the South Down finals on the 12th February.

Diamond Pats is the place to next Saturday night when the club hosts it Annual Dinner Dance and senior awards night. We are glad to report that Derick D has recovered from his recent illness and will be fit to attend function along with special guest An Riocht and Down star John Clarke. After at great dinner we can let the hair down and dance all night to Roxy. Tickets priced £20.00 are available from the committee.

It is semi-final time in the Ulster Vocational Schools U16. St Columbans return to their happy hunting grounds St Oliver Plunkett Park, Crossmacglen on Friday morning at 10.00am to try to secure their place in the Ulster Final. Tyrone champions St Joseph's Coalisland will provide a very stern test for the boys in green and black.

Coach Poacher has continued with his detailed preparations for match that many say will go to the wire. Whist going in as underdogs we are optimistic for a good result.

Longstone hosted the annual Top Club 10 -13 year old table quiz on Tuesday night last Glasdrumman entered two teams. The Inbetweeners James McDowell, Jordan Lavery, Caoila Smith and Erin Eakins and the Fruit Pastilles Kerri Grant, Lauren MComb, Katie Smith and Cora Trimble both delivered outstanding performances to finish second and third respectively. Good luck to The Inbetweeners and the winners on the night Longstone who both have qualified for the Regional Final in Newry in March 2012.

Back by popular command a second games night on Friday 3rd February at 5.30 to 9.00pm in the GAC club rooms. Admittance £1.00.

Down GAA will be running a Level 1 Child Football / Hurling Coaching Course in St John's GAC on the 24/25th February and 2/3rd March 2012. To apply for a registration form for this course please email [email protected]. Closing date for applications is Friday 17th February 2012

Fund raising for the club continues and anyone who has second hand clothes please contact Colette Burden to organise bags and collections.

Annual club membership fees are due please contact Collette, Terry or Gary to make payment.

Pre- season training for the senior footballers begins on Tuesday 7th February.

Juvenile Registration will take place on Sunday 19th February at 3.00pm.

The club would like to extend hearty congratulation to Ronan and Zara McDowell the proud new parents of a bouncing baby boy Alfie.
