Aughlisnafin club notes
January 16, 2012
Aughlisnafin GAC Awards Presentation and Dinner will be held on Saturday 28th January in the Lodge with special guest speaker Pete Mc Grath. Tickets can be purchased from Gerard Lenaghan, Rory Murphy, Brendan Quinn or Orla Flanagan.
The juvenile presentations will take place at the same venue earlier in the day with a surprise guest speaker.
The juvenile registration day for the coming season will be held on Thursday 2nd February 2011 from 6.15 - 7.15 pm in the Fin Hall. The Fin club will be fielding an u14 boys team for the first time in its history and so any player not affiliated to any other club in the football code is more than welcome to join. We would also encourage more girls to join especially those aged 10 -14 year old. There are plans to ensure they have the opportuntiy to play in a girls only team and the more numbers we have the better. The club will also have mixed teams at u12s, u10s, u8s & u6s. We look forward to welcoming back all our juveniles for the new season and would encourage those who maybe lost interest in recent years for one reason or another to consider giving it another go. GAA games are proving more and more popular and at the Fin club everyone is given plenty of opportunities to be involved. The emphasis is on FUN and learning to play gaelic football. Our coaches & team mentors have either the Level 1 or Foundation Award GAA coaching accreditation and are fully compliant with Access NI vetting and are fully conversant with Best Practise for working with juveniles. For more information contact the club youth and coaching development officer Gerard Lenaghan on 0785 426 2858.
The next committee meeting is on Wednesday 25th Jan at 7.30pm. There will be a youth committee meeting at 6.45 pm so that coaches and mentors can be assigned to their teams for the coming season.
Aughlisnafin GAC Club Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 2nd Feb at 7.30pm in St Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception.
