Social & Recreational GAA Event
August 30, 2010
Social & Recreational GAA
An Riocht will run a Social & Recreational GAA event at Dunavil on this Saturday afternoon/evening, 4th September 2010, from 4pm.
Recreational / Social GAA is an opportunity for all members of the Association to participate in a fun, non-competitive environment. It offers fun, enjoyment, exercise, a means to health & fitness and provides a valuable social outlet, the chance to renew friendships and the opportunity for past players/members to get reacquainted with the club.
It is intended for anyone who does not currently represent their club on the field of play and incidental contact only, no shouldering, is allowed. Also players are allowed only two touches maximum (one solo and/or one bounce), and whoever is fouled takes the free. Teams are seven-a-side from a panel of ten and entertainment, hot food and a presentation will take place immediately after the event, approx 8pm. A collection will be taken up for charity.
All players are informed that they are not covered by any insurance policy (unless they have their own private insurance) if they get injured. You play at your own risk. The incidental contact only rule is applied to lower the risk of injury. This project is approved by Down & Ulster GAA Gaelic Games for All.
An amazing 20 teams from all over the County have signalled their intent to play in this inaugural competition which is sure to attract a good attendance.
