Footballers on revenge mission
March 05, 2010
Down will be gunning for revenge when they face Tipperary in round three of the NFL at Pairc Esler tomorrow night.
Tipperary shocked the Mourne County in last year's Division 3 final, so motivation should not be a problem for James McCartan's side as they attempt to build on an excellent start to the league. Down have recorded fine back-to-back wins over Kildare and Meath, so confidence is sure to be high in the camp ahead of the visit of John Evans' charges, who have lost to Laois and Kildare.
Down warmed up for the game with a challenge match against Antrim in Casement Park last week. And despite losing by 2-13 to 2-16, they should get back to winning ways against a Tipperary side who would appear to be struggling at this level.
