GLASDRUMMAN GAC NOTES The Seniors lost out to Kilclief on Friday evening by 1-11 to 2-10. Their next game is at home to Ballyholland on Friday 26th June, throw in at 7.30pm. The Reserves were back in action on Sunday but hampered by injuries, lost out to Atticall 1-22 to 1-6, scorers on the evening were Mark Doran (0-3), Gary Trimble (1-0), Shaun Brennan (0-2), Paul Grant (0-1). Their next game is in the Championship on Sunday 28th June, throw in at 7.00pm. Please keep an eye on the press for details of this game. The U-16s lost out to a strong Annaderg squad last Wednesday in the league. The team on the evening were Sean Grant, Mark Rooney, Barry Magee, Martin McVeigh, Jack Newell, Conor Mulhern, James Cunningham, Shane Harrison, Neill Rodgers (0-3), Patrick Kelly, Colm Grant, Gerard McDowell, Cathal Rodgers (0-1), Colum Murphy (0-1), Richard McAteer, Conor McKay, Ryan McKay & Connor Cunningham. Their next game is at home to Mitchels on Wednesday 24th June, throw in at 7.30pm. The U-14s lost out to Bosco in their Championship game last week. A much improved second half performance brought the lads back into the game, before Bosco closed out the game late on. Their next game is away to Clann na Banna on Sunday 28th June, throw in at 11.00am. Can all players please attend training this Saturday morning at 10.30am. U-16, U-14 & U-12 training is each Saturday at the Quarter Road from 10.30am sharp. U-10s training is each Wednesday at the primary school, 7.00 - 8.00pm and matches each Monday evening, throw in at 7.00pm. The U-8s play Ballymartin on Sunday 28th June at the Primary School. Throw in at 11.00am. The club's second Golf Classic will take place on Friday 3rd July, at Kilkeel Golf Club, costing £120 per fourball, including meal. The Club, Committee and members of Glasdrumman would like to send their condolences to the McKnight , Burden and Annett families following last week's tragic accident in Kilkeel. It's time again for the Coláiste Samhraidh (Irish Language Summer College) organised by the Lower Mourne Branch of Conradh na Gaeilge. This year the summer school will again be based in the Longstone GAA Complex and Moneydarragh Primary School from Wednesday 1st to Tuesday 7th July 2009 as part of our annual Lower Mourne Irish Festival. The Coláiste Samhraidh will give local children, from primary school age through to GCSE Level, the opportunity to gain experience of Irish language and culture during their summer holidays. A major attraction for the children this year is sure to be the visit of Country Down Under-21 Captain Timmy Hanna, with the Irish News Ulster U-21 Cup, and County star Ambrose Rodgers, who will be in attendance to coach the skills of Gaelic Football to the students during the week alongside other County Coaches.The highlight of the week will be the final day with a Lá Spoirt (sports day) and Ceolchoirm (concert) on Tuesday 7th July. Fees will be £30.00 for the whole five day programme with family concessions available. Classes will run from 10am to 3 pm gach lá (every day) and the Bunrang (4yrs to 5yrs) will cost £15.00.
