Match Reports
The U16s reached the semifinals of the U16 B Championship this week with a win over St Joseph's in Ballykinler on Wednesday night. Playing into strong first half wind Ardglass where slow to start however after ten minutes they opened their account with points from Eoin and Jordan Curran. The defense tightened up and where the launch pad for many attacks which saw Ardglass storm in front to lead 1-8 to 0-3 at half time.
John Feenan fisted the ball to the net in the opening minute of the second half, it was an explosive start to the second period as Ardglass piled on the pressure and kept St Joseph's to a single point in the second Half while the forwards racked up the points from long and short range, Mick McConville's showed tireless endeavor in midfield over sixty minute's in a man of the match performance, Full time 3-17 to 0-4, next game home to Drumaness in league on Wednesday night

The seniors had two games last week, the first was a rearranged game v Glenn last Monday night, the result of the game will be settled in the committee room as the referee left the field of play with minutes remaining. The Second game was a way to St John's on Friday evening, the game ended in a draw 2-6 to 0-12 with Ardglass relived to come away with a point as the Johnnies missed numerous scoring chances. This result means the senior team still have not won away from home as we reach the half way point of the season with only two draws on the road so far this season. Chris Taggart was on form from dead balls and play throughout the game and was assisted well by Ciaran Dorrian, Kieran Curran and Tommy McKendry, next game away to Bredagh on Friday at 7.30
The Minors also played St John's in the league at home on Tuesday night and emerged run away winners, which places them in pole position in the league. This was a fine attacking display from start to finish with Matthew McMullan and Tommy McKendry attacking at ever opportunity from Half back line, Christian "Popsy" O'Connor was pulling the strings from half forward as he roved all over the attacking third of the pitch, Midfield was dominated by Armstrong and Rooney while in defence David Pullen put in an assured display over the hour. Next game away to Tecconnaught on Tuesday
The U12s traveled to play Carryduff at the weekend and although they lost by seven points it was a good performance, they created many chances however they where unable to take advantage in front of the posts, in Defence Caolan O'Shea was assured in an unaccustomed full back role, in Midfield Callum Costello made an impression on his first appearance of the season, Darren Ross and Jason Curran showed well in the full forward line.
This week theU12s will be taking part in the Brian O'Hare Memorial Cup & Shield at An Riocht GAC, which is a nine aside tournament with teams from as far away as Dublin taking part, while on Sunday they will travel to Castlewellan in the league.
The reserves shuttered to a six point win over bright at Ardtole on a drizzly Sunday evening, the football throughout was of a poor standard with poor handling and misplaced passes the order of the day, A low scoring first half saw Ardglass waste numerous chances however they still led 4-3 at the break, the second half saw an improvement although it was still a lethargic display, Full Time 1-10 to 1-04, next game away to Bredagh
Up coming events - Cul Camp and Croke Park Trip
The annual Cul Camp will be held at Ardtole from 13th July - 17th July. This year the camp has been extended to include Children aged 4-6 who will be coached by staff employed jointly by the dept of education and the Ulster Council and throughout the week they will be following the Key stage 1 P.E curriculum, if any parent has any queries please do not hesitate to contact Paul O'Shea. Applications have been issue dto both primary schools
The camp is for all boys and Girls aged 4-13 £30 per child for the week with full strip and backpack as well as a full week of expert coaching in Gaelic games. The Club will be going to Croke Park on Friday 3rd July to take part in a guided stadium tour and a visit to the interactive Croke Park Museum, the trip is open to all club members juvenile and senior, £15 per head which includes return bus journey and entry to tour and Museum, Permission slips for all Juveniles are available from Paul O'Shea, Donna O'Connor or Ryan Kelly.
