McGee calls for improvement

Donegal's Neil McGee
Neil McGee says Donegal will have to step it up a gear when they face Derry.

Jim McGuinness' charges put their Ulster title on the line in Sunday's preliminary-round clash with Cavan at Breffni Park and McGee feels that, while the result was ultimately all that mattered, there is plenty of room for improvement

"It was a no-win situation so we are happy to have got over the line," he admits in The Irish Daily Mirror.

"But we were very slack in the last 20 minutes, myself included. We took our foot off the pedal and let them back into the game.

"If we do that against Derry in four weeks' time, now they have the Bradleys back, those boys would put you away.

"We knew Cavan would come out strong and even when they went a few points up we stuck to the game-plan."
