McGuinness demands improvement

Donegal manager Jim McGuinness
Jim McGuinness wasn't entirely pleased with Donegal's performance in their six-point Ulster SFC defeat of Cavan.
Despite never comfortable throughout, the Tir Chonaill men have plenty to work on ahead of their provincial quarter-final meeting with Derry at Ballybofey according to the team manager.
"There were a lot of things in the second half (that we weren't happy about). We weren't ruthless. With 20 minutes to go, there was a challenge match feel about it. That last for a period of about five minutes, then Cavan came back into it," he said.
"We were ponderous on the ball. We had opportunities to do things and we weren't clinical. If we were professional from the very first minutes to the very last minute then we wouldn't have done those things in the second half. We would have continued the journey we were on in the first half and we would have seen it out."
The Glenties man continued: "The other side of the coin is that it's the 20th of Mayo. It's our first day out and it's early in the season. There are always a bit of nerves and jitters on the first day out. It's good to get a game under our belt and now we have a home tie in the next round."
