Donegal have set themselves the target of raising €125,000 over the next seven weeks for the development of their new Centre of Excellence.

County Board treasurer Grace Boyle told delegates that they are looking to raise the money in a short period of time and are urging 200 people to donate €500 to the cause.

"We have set ourselves a deadline of seven weeks to raise the money which is what is required if we are to draw down a Croke Park grant of €250,000 which has been more or less committed to us by the National Infrastructure Committee," said Boyle.

"I know these are tough times, but it is a great offer and while the grant has not been totally confirmed we have received assurances from the Infrastructure Committee that they will recommend that we be granted the money if we come up with €125,000 from our own resources." Tweet
