Cassidy facing ban
August 23, 2010

Donegal's Kevin Cassidy
Former Donegal captain Kevin Cassidy could be banned for 12 weeks following an altercation with a referee during a recent club match.
Cassidy and his Gweedore manager Sean 'Nancy' Gallagher were reported by referee Seamus Bradley for the offence after a league game against Naomh Conaill two weeks ago. Twelve-week bans were subsequently proposed for the pair who are mulling over whether to contest the suspensions.
Former All-Star Cassidy, who retired from inter-county football after this year's All-Ireland qualifier exit at the hands of Armagh, is thought to be reviewing his decision after a recent approach by new Donegal manager Jim McGuinness.
