IFC: Bundoran through to last four
August 13, 2010
Bundoran 1-12
Carndonagh 1-5
Bundoran earned their place into the semi-finals of the Donegal IFC last Sunday when they saw off the challenge of Carndonagh at Ballybofey.
The victors had dominated for the majority of the first-half and led by 1-5 to 0-2 at the break, with Tommy Hourihane's 25th minute goal proving a major blow for their struggling opponents.
Eanna Newton and Kevin Doherty pointed for Carndonagh after the restart, but those were outweighed when Shane McGowan, Dara Hoey, Johnny Ward and Tommy Hourihane raised white flags for the Stars of the Sea.
To their credit, Carndonagh recovered well and staged somewhat of a late rally and had the gap down to five after Padraig Doherty's '45' dropped into the net, but further scores from Dessie McNamara, McGowan and Fergal McKiernan down the other end were always going to be enough for Bundoran.
