Donegal suffer Gallagher blow

January 28, 2010

Donegal's Darragh Gallagher closes in on Tyrone's Sean O'Neill during the Dr McKenna Cup.
Darragh Gallagher will miss Donegal's entire National Football League campaign after fracturing a bone in his chest. The highly promising half forward is facing three months on the sidelines after suffering the injury while playing for his club Naomh Conaill in an Ulster under 21 club championship game against Derry's Forglen last Sunday. Gallagher had played against St. Mary's the previous day in the McKenna Cup, but missed last night's semi-final win over Down. Doctors have diagnosed the injury as a cracked bone in the chest and have told him to rest for 12 weeks.
