Minors need to up it
June 26, 2009
Donegal's minors must show a significant improvement in form if they are to reach the 2009 Ulster MFC final.
The U18s travel to Clones on Saturday evening to face Down (5:15) at the semi-final stage and manager Martin Regan accepts that a vast improvement on the quarter-final performance against Antrim is required if they are to realistically challenge for a place in the provincial showcase:
"There is no question about it - Down will pose a much stiffer test than Antrim and we are under no illusions that we are going to have to step it up on Saturday evening if we are to match Down.
"We played well for about 20 minutes against Antrim - the first 20 minutes - and then dropped our game a gear or two.
"We will not get away with something like that against Down. If we do [play like that], we will find ourselves in trouble."
