Lotto There was no winner of the jackpot this week. Jean O Kane, Paul Mc Mullan, Danny Harkin (Convoy) Mary Fisher (Drumkeen) and Dan Deery (Ballybofey) matched two counties and won 20 each. The winning counties were KY, DY, MN and WD. Next weeks jackpot is 3900. If you wish to have the notes emailed please contact [email protected]. Cul Camp This year's cul camp will run from Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July in Convoy. Cost 65 for first child and 50 for other children thereafter. Application forms are available from Stephani 087 7618831 and are to be returned immediately to Stephani to ensure place on camp. Bus will leave Drumkeen hall and top of terrace Raphoe at 930am. Children are asked to please bring a packed lunch. Team news The under 10's travelled to Mc Cumhaill Park on Saturday last for the penultimate blitz There were 35 children in all with terrific performances from both teams. St. Marys host the finals on Saturday 27th June in Convoy. All support welcome and anyone willing to make sandwiches or contribute to the refreshments can take them to club kitchen on the day. The under 12's were well beaten by a strong Glenties side in the county semi-final on Sunday evening last in O'Donnell park, Letterkenny. Glenties went 7 points to nothing ahead in the first twenty minutes. St. Marys came more into the game in the last ten minutes of the first half with a goal from James Kee and a point from Jack Blake to put them back in contention with the half time score 1 1 to 0 7. However Glenties dominated the second half and ran out easy winners in the end. Subs used: Kevin Bonner, Erica Wilson, James Sweeney and Caolan Mathewson. The under 14 boys campaign began in Convoy on Wednesday last with a victory over neighbours Red Hugh's. St. Mary's started brightly and 2 goals in the first half helped them to a 4 point lead at the break. Red Hugh's enjoyed lots of procession throughout but wayward shooting let them down. Two goals in the final stages did reduce the arrears but St. Marys ran out victors. Final Score: St. Mary's 4 4 : Red Hugh's 2 6. Best for St. Mary's were Conor Cairns, James Kee, Michael Patton and Ryan Bonner. Under 16's and minors training continues on Wednesday evening this week at 6.30pm. The minors have league games away to Termon on Monday and away to Burt on Friday next. The reserves were away to Red Hugh's in the first round first leg of the Junior B championship on Saturday last. They were defeated on a scoreline of 1 10 to 1 5. Red Hugh's were leading by 2 point at half time. Michael Browne saved a penalty in the second half to keep St. Marys in contention. However a goal shortly afterwards for Red Hugh's saw them run out easy winners in the end. Scorers: Kevin Kelly 0 3, Ryan Carlin 1 2. St. Mary's senior men were at home this week to Moville in the 1st Round 1st Leg of the Junior A championship. The game was played at a fast and furious pace and St. Mary's lead by a point at half time. St. Mary's continued to apply the pressure in the second half and were rewarded when a Seamus O'Donnell goal put them 4 points ahead with 12 minutes to go. Moville replied with 3 unanswered points to leave them 1 point behind as the game entered injury time. St. Mary's lost possession in the dying seconds resulting in a goal for Moville which left the final score St. Mary's 1-06 Moville 1-08. This was a game St. Mary's didn't deserve to lose and they can look forward with some confidence to the return leg in 4 weeks time. It was a very good team performance with John Doherty and Marty Mc Namee outstanding. Senior and Reserve training continues on Tuesday and Thursdays at 7.30pm. Ladies The seniors ladies played Lifford on Friday night and won on a scoreline of 2 8 to 2 2. Overall this was a very strong team performance form the girls and this level of commitment is needed throughout the year if the team is to be successful. The senior ladies championship game is next Sunday 28th June v St. Nauls in Convoy at 12mday. Supporters welcome. Training continues on Sunday at 11.30am and Wednesday at the earlier time of 6.30pm. Under 14 and 16 girls training continues on Saturday at 12.15. The under 14's are away to Glenfin on Thursday evening at 6pm. Players are asked to meet at convoy pitch at 5pm for bus. Bag Packing A bag packing day has been organised for Tesco's on Saturday 4th July to raise funds for the club. All help would be appreciated from the young and the not so young.
