Bradley: I've nothing to prove

Derry's Eoin Bradley

Eoin Bradley maintains he doesn't have to prove a point after his making the decision to play with Derry again.

News of the Glenullin sharpshooter's shock return to the Oak Leafers broke yesterday and it is understood that he trained with Brian McIver's squad last night.

Bradley's soccer commitments with Coleraine played a part in his stepping away from inter-county football last season, and he has since signed with fellow Irish League side Glenavon, but he intends to mix both in 2015.

While he has outlined that he won't be playing in January's McKenna Cup, he hopes to be able to line-out in the National League and believes he won't be under any pressure to perform for McIver's team.

"People say to me, 'that man has a point to prove'. I haven't a point to prove," Bradley told the Irish Daily Star.

"The last 10 years I've been as high a scorer as anybody in Derry football. Just this year being out of the county panel they were saying this is why this man is going so well.

"I found myself I had a good run. I didn't have any injuries up to the county quarter-finals. I felt myself very fit, very strong. I think the soccer actually helped me with the sharpness."
