Derry SFC: Dungiven and Slaughtneil into last four

September 15, 2014

Dungiven and Slaughtneil will meet for a place in the Derry SFC final following their respective victories over Glenullin and Kilrea at the weekend.

A Donal McGilligan goal with 10 minutes remaining proved decisive as Dungiven edged out Glenullin 1-10 to 0-11 at Owenbeg. The sides were level on 0-5 apiece at half-time, but Glenullin had moved into a 0-10 to 0-9 lead before McGilligan's strike won it for Dungiven.

In the weekend's other quarter-final, six frees from Paul Bradley helped Slaughtneil to a 0-19 to 0-8 win over Kilrea. It was 0-8 to 0-5 in favour of the winners at half-time, but they pulled away after the restart with scores from Paul, Chris and Gerald Bradley as well as substitute Cormac O'Doherty.

Holders Ballinderry will face Coleraine in the other semi-final.
