Muldoon concerned over slow start

August 22, 2014

Ballinderry manager Fabian Muldoon admits that the first half of their SFC win over Coleraine was the worst he's even seen.

In horrendous conditions, both teams struggled to adapt and the first half was certainly a dour affair, with the second half picking up a bit as the defending champions just got over the line.

Speaking to the County Derry Post, he said: "To be honest, the first 30 minutes' football was as bad a 30 minutes of football as I've seen in a long, long time. I thought we were absolutely dreadful. Our use of the ball, things we talked about, keeping it through the hands, for experienced players to go out and play with as much stupidity as they did was hard to believe.

He added: "I just think any team, when you put a bit of pressure on them, it makes them make rash decisions. It's the same with ourselves too, you don't want to be running into the tackle, you want to keep the ball moving as much as you can."
