Michael Davitt GAC Swatragh Club notes
May 20, 2013The U14 footballers began their league campaign at home to Dungiven. The concession of poor goals proved costly along with a succession of missed chance as Dungiven won out on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-11.
The U16 footballers were away to Ballinascreen in the final league game before the break for exams. Swatragh dominated the game from start to finish but probably did not completely reflect this on the score board. A first half goal from Lorcan McWilliams aided the Davitts into 1-08 to 0-02 lead at the break. Second half goals from Mark Cassidy, Patrick Kearney and Francis Kearney give Swatragh an 18 point victory on a scoreline of 4-10 to 0-05 but unfortunately an excellent work rate was not complimented by shot selection which may prove costly later in the year. The next game is against Glen in 6 weeks time, training continues on Tuesday evening at the usual time.
Club lotto numbers on Saturday past were 1,11,14 and 23. There was no jackpot winner but lucky dip winners were Bernie McQuillan and Kirsty Duncan. Jackpot 1 currently stands at £5000 with Jackpot 2 now at £1000. Bingo takes place every Sat night at 9pm with the jackpot at £2500 for 42 numbers. Tweet
