Club Lotto Standing Order
Ever see the Glen Lotto accumulate to several thousand pounds and not physically able to buy a ticket? Well now you can be entered into the weekly lotto automatically when you pay via a standing order. The cost of this standing order is £12 which will be taken out of your account once every three months! The weekly jackpot begins at £500 and quite often rolls over for a number of weeks meaning a bigger jackpot on regular occasions. How do you set this up? Simply download the 'Lotto Standing Order' form from the Club Document's Section (found under the 'Membership' tab) on the Watty Website - complete fully and give to Frankie Kearney (via email on [email protected] or contact him on mobile number 07716757223).

Club Glen

Following an outstanding year in 2011, for all our club teams and Scor entrants, and after winning so many trophies it was brilliant to see how many Watty supporters, parents, former players and family members have embraced and supported the surge Glen have made in recent years, especially at underage level. Now, more than ever, each and every member and supporter has a major part to play in helping to take all of this recent success to a higher level. More capital development will be needed at Watty Park in the very near future. Most of you will also be aware that we are in urgent need of a replacement ball-stop net at the road end of the upper pitch, due to the previous one being damaged during the recent gales. To allow such plans for capital development and regular maintenance of the facilities at both the pitch and the Social Club what is needed is a more regular finance injection. What can you do? As many of you will know there has been a 'Club Glen' initiative operating over the past few years and which a number of members are already a part of - however we need more numbers!! 'Club Glen' is £10 per month or £30 per quarter year which works out at £2.50 per week! This regular contribution is quite easy to set up via a 'Club Glen' regular standing order. You can download the standing order form on the home page of the Watty website or alternatively you can contact Frank Kearney directly on 07716757223 and all can be set in place for you. We are aware that many of our members and the wider GAA are feeling the pinch however such a small contribution would be a worthwhile investment when balanced against the magnificent feel-good factor we all have experienced from the outstanding success for our Club last year. It's now great to see so many more people following our club and it's brilliant to have you on board with us and you are welcome to play your part. Do please take this opportunity to help move YOUR CLUB onwards and upwards!

Craigmore & District Community Association (C&DCA) / Watty Grahams GAC

The youth of Maghera can now look forward to using an environment where our young people can meet, socialise, compete or 'chill out' together in a safe environment. Last Wednesday night C&DCA / Watty Grahams held a Youth Club re-launch night in order to showcase the new equipment which had been bought after receiving £10,000 in funding from the Big Lottery 'Awards for All' scheme and also to outline their future initiatives and objectives. Watty Grahams Chairman Joe McQuillan controlled proceedings and invited each of the guests; Gerry Lynch (Community Development Consultant), Parish Priest Fr. Paddy Doherty, Councillor's Kathleen Lagan and Sean Kerr, to speak about this new initiative which has been some time in the making but has thankfully now become a reality. The driving force for this initiative over the past few years, and the face of C&DCA, is Eugene Devlin and major credit goes to him and other members of C&DCA and Watty Grahams who have steered the ship and helped to secure this funding and sourced the equipment provided. Eugene spoke about the need for such an initiative and how something was needed for all the youth in the local area, especially those that were currently not involved in the sports provided by Watty Grahams. He outlined that one of the main objectives this year was to train up volunteers from the local community and members of the Watty Grahams Club to become qualified youth workers which would see the project go from strength to strength. He also suggested that bigger plans were also further down the line, one of which would be renovating the current Watty Grahams Social Club in order to make it more 'youth club' friendly whilst also providing top class sporting and social facilities. With the speeches finished it was time to test out the excellent new equipment - highlight of the night was Kevin Og Brolly getting beaten by his mother Margaret at badminton! Some of the equipment purchased was as follows: two 51 inch flat screen TV's, five laptop computers (another three laptop computers were also very kindly donated by Gerard O'Connell - many thanks), Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii computers, games and accessories, two portable table tennis tables and accessories, unihoc equipment, an air hockey table, a football table, two badminton / volleyball nets and accessories, punch bag and gloves and pool table accessories for the existing pool table. The committees of Craigmore & District Community Association and Watty Grahams GAC would like to thank all those invited guests who spoke on the night and to all those people, children and adults, from the local community who attended to look at and try the new equipment first hand. Thanks also to those who helped prepare the refreshments that were on offer and thanks to Brian McKenna for his photography work. Further details about the operation of the Youth Club will be announced soon.
