We travelled to neighbours Castledaly to complete our league programme knowing a win would guarantee promotion. Despite losing the experienced Nigel Adamson to injury in the first minute early scores from Ciaran Corcoran, Rob Forde and an own goal steadied us and we were never really troubled from then on. Leading 1-4 to 0-3 at half time we pushed on in the second half and a great sweeping move saw Rob Forde bury a shot to the back of the net and effectively end the game as a contest. In fairness the hosts rallied well and pinned us back for parts without really threatening Alex Ryans goal thanks to stout defending in front of him. Best for us were David Mullins, Ronan Conway, Conor Sheridan and man of the match Dylan Ennis who put in a huge shift in the middle of the park.Well done to the lads and their mentors Liam, Tommy and Jimmy on achieving back to back promotions and who now have a league final to look forward to. Also best wishes for a speedy recovery to Nigel. Moate under 14 team had a narrow 3-10 to 3-09 win over Lilliput Gaels last Sunday morning in Hogan Park. This was a fine win for Moate with the goals scored by Luke Whitney, Toby Conteh and Sam Fannin.
