Rosemount GAA notes

April 18, 2017

It was a busy week on the Gaa front. We played two ACFL league games last weekend. On Friday evening we travelled to Springfield to take on Mullingar Shamrocks in the Div 5 league. It was an even game throughout, with both sides going in at half time level after we dominant for  most of the first half. Ultimately Shamrocks took there scoring chances more and ran out winning by 2 points. Final score:

Rosemount 0.11

Mullingar Shamrocks 0.13

On Sunday morning we welcomed county champions St Lomans to the park for our Div 1 league game. Still down a number of regulars due to injury we competed well throughout , David 'Dude' McCormack and Seanie Pettit kept the score board ticking over, keeping us in the game with some well taken scores. We went in at half time in a good position down by a single point. In the second half,  Lomans showed there greater strength in depth and pulled away towards the end of the second half with two additional goals. Well done lads on an encouraging performance. Final score:

Rosemount 0.12

St Lomans 3.08.

Well done to our u21's who had a comprehensive win over Killucan in the championship on Tuesday last by 2.16 to 1.06. We now take on Moate in the next round with details to be confirmed by the county board.

Our u14's put it an impressive display  defeating St Lomans in the County Feile Quarter final last Saturday, they bowed out at the semi final stage losing narrowly to a strong Shandonagh side by 4 points.

Our u8's made there eagerly anticipated trip to the capital last week to take part in the Annual Leinster G.A.A. 'Go Games' in Croke Park. It was a fantastic day out for the players, and there parents. Well done to all.
