GAA player returns home after accident

A young hurler, who suffered life threatening injuries when struck by a car in London, has returned home, thanks to the help of GAA.

Tipperary native Tony Hogan has been in a coma for four months after he was knocked down by a car outside a nightclub in Stockwell.

A benefit night was held in Cricklewood for Tony last weekend and his father Milo spoke of his pride over the support shown by the GAA community over there.

Tony received first aid by Tipperary man Killian Ryan on the night of the accident, even though Ryan just happened to be passing at the time.

"He just happened to be driving by and saw the accident and got out to help," Tony told the Irish Post. For him to be there and know what to do was a lucky coincidence.

"To not only be from Ireland but from the next parish over is something that really makes you wonder. We want to thank him from the bottom of our hearts. We owe him and London GAA a lot."
