June 27, 2012

Tipperary took the field against All Ireland Champions with a much changed team that included five of last years Minor team in blustery conditions in the county camogie ground at the ragg on saturday. It was to be a steep learning curve for the Tipperary as Wexford took the game to tipperary and after 4 mins Wexford had the ball in the Tipperary net when a loose ball was kicked in by Una Leacy .Tipperary strived to put pressure on Wexford but apart from acouple of half chances the Wexford defence were in control a further three points by Wexford put them futher ahead untill a well taken point by captain Joanne Ryan put Tipperary on the scoreboard.tipperary were holding on at this stage untill a flurry of Wexford points by ursula Jacobs opened up a big gap, Tipp replied with points by Caoimhe Maher and Mary Ryan to leave the half time score Tipperary 0.03 Wexford 1.10.Tipperary brought on Cait devane and Sarah Fryday on for the start or the second half and cait dvane opened the scoring with a well pointed free, then Tipps Ereena Fryday scored a great goal to give a large Tipperary crowd some hope and when Nicole Walshe converted two more frees Tippwere looking and play their best camogie, however Wexfords Una Leacy and Ursula Jacob were in great form and closed out the game with afinal score of !.06 to 1.17.Tipperary can take great heart from thier second half display and look foreward to Clare this Saturday.

Played in the camogie grounds last Saturday as a double header with the senior team Tipperary s intermediates had a great game against the All Ireland Intermediate champions.
