Alan Farrell impressed for Nobber
Nobber finished top of Group A with a win in this tough local North Meath darby match against their neighbours Castletown.
The early stages of the first half were neck and neck, until Castletown pulled away scoring 1-2 when Nobber had a scoreless 20 Minutes. Nobber scored two points in injury time that then left them trailing by just a goal at half time.
The start of the second half Nobber scored three points to bring it back to draw match, but Castletown upped the pace again. Both teams never took the foot off the pedal and it wasn't until the 57 minute when, with Nobber two points in arrears, Brian Farrell passed the ball to oncoming Philip McEntee, and he sent the ball to the back of the net. The final minutes saw tense times in the Nobber goal mouth when an attempt to level the match up came back off the up-right and was attempted to be flicked to the net but denied again by the up-right. Nobber backs gained possession and cleared the ball to safety.
Best for Nobber were Philip McEntee, Colin Clarke, Gavin Farrelly, Alan Farrell and Brian Farrell.
