Senchalstown finish with a win
September 12, 2006
Senchalstown ended their campaign on a high note as they defeated Cortown in Simonstown on Friday 8th of September.
Cortown were chasing for all the game as Senchlastown got off to a blistering start as they had a goal and two points on the scoreboard within the first ten minutes. Brian Clarke netted for the Beauparc side after two minutes. Ciaran Macken and Clarke added a point each.
Cortown battled back well before the break to leave four points between the sides. Garry Coyne's goal left the scoreline 1-6 to 1-2 at half-time. Both teams traded scores in the second half with Gordon Codd and Glenn Loughran showing up well for Cortown, Loughran finishing with five points to his name.
However Senchalstown had too much talent in all area's of the field, especially in the forwards as all six ended up with a score to their name. With Robert Ruddy excelling in midfield and Macken and Clarke causing havoc inside they came out on top by two points.
Cortown will face Kilmainhamwood in the relegation playoff while Senchalstown will look back on missed opportunities throughout the year.
