Kilbride 3-15 Ballinabrackey 2-14
Kilbride made it into another minor final this time at the expense of a great Ballinabrackey side.
Before the game Kilbride we looking to make it into another decider having contested both the two previous years finals.
As early as the first minute Kilbride were ahead through Cadhla McKenna but the had to wait until the tenth minute before Adam Malone would get their second. Ballinabrackey responded with three of their own to be in front. Kilbride were dominating but were wastful in front of goal until a purple spell between the thirteenth and 19th minute saw them score 2 - 4 and it should have been more. The first of the goals coming from Adam Malone and the second from full forward Finn Hughes to sail into a commanding lead at half time 2-6 to 6 pts
Ballinabrackey were quickest to start the secong half and and had it back to three points when they reeled off three fine points. With plenty of experience in the Kilbride side they seemed to up the tempo when needed and a wonder goal on thirty nine mintes extended there lead back to six when Michael Farrell slotted home from ten yards. Ballinbrackey again faught back when they found the net but again the home side who were defending extremely well through Ronan McManus, Sean Duffy James Gavin Paul Donnelly and Jamie McWeeney who were the stand excellent throught out.
Further points from Martin Countney, and from Cadhla McKenna seemed to be enough but again the Bracks found the net to reduce it to two points but points from Cian Harford, Adam Malone and two more from McKenna was enough to see the home team get into there third minor final in three years.
Its been a fantastic year for the club but having narrowly lost the last two minor finals Kilbride will be hungry to make it third time lucky.
