Trim 2-10 Ratoath 0-5
Ratoath hosted Trim in the U16 Hurling league which would decide who topped the group and who would be second going into the semi finals.
Both teams were unbeaten going into this. Ratoath opened the scoring from a 65 from Jason Farrell but Mikey Cole levelled soon after. the teams were tied at 0-2 each after 15 minutes but the remainder of the half was dominated by the boys in Red and White. James Murray got 2 points from play while Cole added another three to leave the score 0-7 to 0-2 at half time.
The defence led by Gary Fleming and Conor Quigley, who was excellent at centre back, withstood any pressure from the Ratoath attack and aided by Callum Buckley in goals the winners keep a clean sheet. Trim als welcomed back Harry Harlin to the hurling pitch at half time after a few years out of the game.
The second half saw Trim open another point from Cole and a well taken Murray goal extended their lead.
Ratoath didn't lie down and returned with 2 points. Joey Cole then took his goal chance well to put the contest beyond reach. Murray and Mikey Cole pointed as Trim finish winners on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-5.
The semi final is pencilled in for Sunday April 30th
