Bailieborough Shamrocks GFC hoping for improved fortunes in 2005

The Bailieborough Shamrocks Senior and Underage Clubs held their annual meetings last week-end - and at well-attended meetings on both nights, the following were elected to serve as officers for the coming season: Senior Club - Chairman: Fr. John Cooney; Vice-Chairman, John Rooney; Secretary, Tony Gregory; Asst Secretary, Donal Clarke; Treasurer, Paddy McDonald; Registrar, Damian Carroll; P.R.O., Brian Keegan, and Asst. PRO, Neal Scanlon; Coaching Officer, Martin Sharkey; Insurance Officer, Phillip McDonald; Representatives to Co. Board: Rita Clarke and Benny Clarke. Finance Officer - Peadar Clerkin; Park, Patsy Barry; Match Day, Andy Gorman; Irish Officer, Oliver Tierney. In his address, the Chairman Fr. John Cooney thanked the members for their tremendous fund-raising activities over the year and expressed the hope that 2005 would see resurgence in the club's fortunes on the field. He also thanked outgoing Club Secretary Rita Clarke for her many years of dedicated service to the club. Under age club committee - Chairman, Oliver Tierney; Vice- Chairman, Neal Scanlon; Secretary, Peadar Clerkin; Reps. to Youth Board: M. Sharkey and N. Scanlon; Peil na nOg - Sean Clarke and Paul Kelly Again this meeting saw a change at the top when outgoing chairman Sean Clarke who also didn't seek re-election, stepped down after 10 years as Chairman where he oversaw the successful re-structuring of the under age section of the club. Training for the forthcoming season continues in St Anne's Park every Tuesday and Friday night at 8.15 p.m. sharp. A players meeting for all senior and junior players will take place in the Community Centre on Saturday evening next, January 22nd at 8.30 p.m. All players are requested to attend this meeting. Training has resumed in St. Anne's Park on Friday evenings at 8.30 p.m. All minors, juniors and seniors will train at the same time. All new faces welcome for the new season.
