Finuge take Munster junior crown

December 20, 2004
Finuge..................2-13 Aghabullogue.......3-5 Kerry champions Finuge captured the Munster club junior football title following a comfortable victory over Aghabullogue of Cork in Killarney on Sunday, December 19. Backboned by Kerry stars Eamonn Fitzmaurice and Paul Galvin, along with former Kingdom defender Eamon Breen, Finuge always had the upperhand. However, their victory came at a price as Raymond Galvin was red-carded late in the game and will thus miss next weekend's North Kerry final against Listowel. Aghabullogue also finished with 14 men after Barry Kiely's late dismissal. With Trevor McKenna dominating at midfield, the Kerry side led by 0-6 to 0-0 early on and despite Aghabullogue replying with 1-3, including a soccer-style goal from Niall Buckley, Paul Galvin scored a superb goal in the 26th minute to help Finuge to a 1-8 to 1-3 interval lead. A Paul O'Rourke goal gave Aghabullogue some hope before Breen's 38th minute goal put the result beyond doubt.
