Miskella to train Ballincollig hurlers

Cork's John Miskella
Recently-retired Cork football star John Miskella has no intention of taking a break from the GAA, having agreed to train his club Ballincollig's intermediate hurling team this year.

A chronic groin problem forced the 2010 All-Ireland winner to retire from all levels of football at the end of last season, but instead of putting his feet up and taking a well-earned rest, he will be putting the Ballincollig hurlers through their paces in the coming year.

Incidentally, another former Cork footballer, Podsie O'Mahony, will perform a similar role with Ballincollig's senior footballers.

Meanwhile, RTE pundit Tomas Mulcahy will be part of the Glen Rovers hurling management team for 2012, while former Limerick captain TJ Ryan has taken the reins at Kilworth.
