Kilshannig remain on course for minor double

Kilshannig 1-12
St Marks 1-10

Kilshannig's minor B hurlers assured they would remain on course for a league and championship double last Saturday when they saw off St Marks by two points in the county league semi-final at Meelin.

The winners had only edged St Marks at half-time after Donal O'Callaghan blasted in a late goal just before half-time to cut the hosts' arrears to a point, 0-8 to 1-4.

The Saints were quick out of the traps after the restart with Eamon Brosnan and Aidan O'Flynn pucking over scores to put their team in the lead for the first time in the match. Barry O'Hanlon soon leveled matters for the visitors before Frank McCarthy crashed in Kilshannig's goal from the tightest of angles.

To their credit, St Marks fought back well through Brosnan, who finished with 0-9, but scores from O'Hanlon and Stephen Murray settled the issue for Kilshannig.
