Collins relieved

Cratloe manager Colm Collins admits that he was a relieved man at the full time whistle after his charges defeated Lissycasey after extra time in their SFC clash last weekend.

There were six points separating the sides at the end of an enthralling the contest and Collins stressed to the Clare Champion that the scoreline didn't reflect the closeness of the game.

Lissycasey had to play the majority of extra time with 14-men after Cathal Doohan was shown a second yellow card five minutes into the added time.

"The final scoreline is completely flattering. There wasn't six points between the teams. That was a real tight game. Lissycasey had no choice but to go after the game and when they did there were openings, which led to the second goal in particular. It was a real tough championship game and we are very fortunate to come out on top.

"Some of the Lissycasey players are young and it takes a while to get experience but we made mistakes too. We gave away some bad ball and we have a lot to do. We haven't seen the last of this Lissycasey side. They are a good side."
