Clare midfielder Colm Galvin says there will be 'no holding back' when they square up Waterford in Sunday's Division 1 final at Semple Stadium.

Galvin, who notched five points in the Banner's semi-final win over Kilkenny, was fulsome in his praise of their final opponents at today's launch in Croke Park.

"I think they were very unfortunate not to get further last year the way they played," he remarked.

"They won the league fairly convincingly and this year they're putting teams away. I rate them up there with Kilkenny at the moment.

"We're going to have to bring our absolute A game on Sunday and see how we get on but it's going to be an interesting year meeting them again in the championship.

"Both teams won't be holding back on Sunday and they won't be holding back for the championship either so it's going to be good few weeks coming up."

Galvin will be hoping they can replicate the performance that saw them claim Kilkenny's scalp on a scoreline of 4-22 to 2-19.

"It was great to get the momentum and, hopefully, we'll be able to carry that into Sunday."
